Blood Drive
On Friday May 18, 2012 Mia held a blood drive to appeal to the older audience in getting them involved. The blood drive went better than expected, with about 170 people signing up to donate. There were so many people coming to sign up that donors willing to sign up had to be turned away due to time constraints. Also, because of the high volume of unexpected donors, there wasn't enough time to take blood from every single person. However, despite the amount of people that had to be turned away and/or had to leave before donating, the blood drive exceed their goal of 80 pints of blood by collecting 83 pints. To put it in perspective, that's about 249 lives saved with blood from this blood drive!
